STUDENT ENROLMENT
Carnegie Primary School is a government school. All children who are Australian citizens or permanent residents, and who are under eighteen years, are entitled to be enrolled in a government school. They are guaranteed a place for the school for which they are zoned and may apply to another school which has capacity for out of zone enrolments.
Children may enter primary school at the beginning of the year that they turn 5 years old, if their birthday falls before the 30th April. The School caters to students from Foundation (Prep) - Grade 6.
Carnegie Primary School follows the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy:
FOUNDATION (PREP) ENROLMENT TIMELINE
The Department of Education has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.
The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Carnegie PS.
You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2027 at Carnegie PS from 20th April 2026.
You can find information and resources about the enrolment timeline at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep). This pack includes guidance on the application process.
Our school uses the Department of Education’s secure digital enrolment system called VicStudents. This means you can submit your Foundation (Prep) application online and receive updates through the system. If you have any questions about the online enrolment process, please contact our school. Paper enrolment application forms are also available on request.
Enrolment applications submitted after 31 July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Enrolment Policy.
